Box Office and Online Ticketing
1. Where is the Box Office and what are your hours?
The Box Office is located on the right as you enter Cherokee High School South. We are open M-F 10:00am-4:00pm. For directions, please click here.
2. Do you do refunds or exchanges? What if it is an emergency situation?
It is the policy of the Performing Arts Center that all sales are final and refunds and exchanges are not permitted under any circumstances. This policy will be strictly enforced.
3. Are there discounted tickets available?
There are a number of discount ticketing options available on most Summer Theater shows. Groups of 15+ receive a group discount for most events. Individuals with a "Golden Age Pass" (for individuals age 62+ living in the Lenape Regional High School District only) receive discounts on individual shows. Occasionally shows are also discounted through the Philadelphia Culture Alliance's Phillyfunsaver program (click here for details). The best way to get a discounted ticket is to purchase a subscription. Subscribers receive the most substantial reduction in ticket price.
4. I just bought my tickets, when will I receive them?
Tickets are usually mailed immediately. If you have not received your tickets within 2 weeks of placing your order, please contact the Box Office.
5. Why do you ask for my telephone number when I purchase tickets?
We need every patron's telephone number to contact them in the event that there is a problem with their ticket order or with the scheduled event.
6. Is the Box Office open on the day of the show if it is on a weekend?
The Box Office is open on the day of every scheduled event. Please check the web site or call for hours.
7. How come when I'm buying tickets and I step away from my computer for a few minutes I have to start over?
If the user does not proceed with the ordering process from screen to screen within 5 minutes, the system logs the user out. This is done both as a security measure and as a means of making sure individuals are not tying up "unsold seats".
8. My credit card was charged, but I have not received my tickets. What do I do?
If you find a charge on your credit card for tickets that you have not received, PLEASE CONTACT THE BOX OFFICE IMMEDIATELY. We want to make sure your seats are reserved in your name and that there was no malfunction with the ticketing system. We sell a huge volume of tickets, so mistakes do occasionally happen.
9. Why did I get a "blank" confirmation screen after entering my credit card information online?
The confirmation screen should not be blank. The screen should list the tickets that you just purchased. Please email our online support team immediately should this occur. Please try to remember if there was any anomaly that you noticed while ordering your tickets.
10. Why is the internet ticketing system "offline for maintenance"?
Periodically (like all web sites) the software which runs our site needs to be updated. The maintenance period usually lasts only about an hour or so. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Concession Information
11. Do you offer food and beverage service prior to and during the performances?
Yes, we offer reasonably priced snacks and light beverages prior to and during intermission of each show.
12. What kind of food and beverages do you offer?
We offer a variety of candy, chips/crackers, cookies, pretzels, sodas, juices, and bottled water.
13. Why are you so strict about bringing food and beverages into the theater?
It is the theater's policy not to allow any food or drink into the performance area. There are several reasons for this policy. The first is that food and beverage items can do serious damage to the carpets and the seats within the theater. Also, if any beverage - even water - is accidentally spilled, it would roll down the aisles between the seats and could damage someone else's personal belongings (coat, handbag, etc.) . The last reason relates to simple courtesy. It is very distracting to performers and other patrons when individuals are eating or drinking during a performance.
General Theater Information
14.What time does the show start?
Evening performances generally begin at 8:00 p.m. and most afternoon matinees begin at 2:00 p.m. This is by no means absolute however, we encourage you to check with the box office if you are unsure. The lobby is open 1 hour before show time and you may begin seating about 1/2 hour before show time.
15. How many seats do you have?
Approximately 1500 seats.
16. Is there an intermission?
Most shows have an intermission, but in certain instances performers require in their contracts to complete their show WITHOUT an intermission.
