107 Years of Broadway The 2009 Season kicks off with a pair of performances by the incomparable Neil Berg and his gifted cast of Broadway veterans. As a summer staple in recent seasons, Neil and Company have continued to draw packed houses and rave reviews at Lenape and around the country since their debut appearance here in 2002. Through his vibrant arrangements of Broadway classics, as well as a knack for introducing selections from Broadway's newest hits, Mr. Berg is sure to continue to deliver on the annual promise of bringing the best of Broadway to the musical theater fans of the region. Kate Shindle in Concert Broadway regular and South Jersey native Kate Shindle returns to Lenape with Grammy and Emmy winning musical director John McDaniel for a celebration of some of the greatest music of our time. From Harold Arlen to Stephen Sondheim, Ray Charles to Michael John LaChiusa, this show is about classics old and new, interpreted by a singer who cares deeply about lyrics and a musical director who is not afraid to take a few chances along the way. Kate Shindle most recently co-starred as Vivienne in Broadway's Legally Blonde, following outings as Sally Bowles in Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall's acclaimed Cabaret and Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde. The Rodney Mack Philadelphia Big Brass In this collection of Philadelphia's top brass and percussion players, trumpeter Rodney Mack has assembled a talented and dynamic roster of artists with performance credits from the most prestigious musical organizations in the region including The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Delaware Symphony, and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. In a repertoire that includes a variety of musical styles, and performances that move freely from Renaissance to Jazz, The Rodney Mack Philadelphia Big Brass is a diverse ensemble of musicians dedicated to bringing the majestic sounds of sparkling brass and percussion to audiences around the world. The Ultimate Doo Wop Show In a salute to the heartfelt harmonies of the 50's and 60's, The Ultimate Doo Wop Show features some of the most prolific talents of the era performing their signature hits and bringing back the memories of a simpler time and a golden age of American music. Linda Eder - The Holiday Show In a fitting conclusion to another successful season, Lenape favorite Linda Eder marks her return to the Center with a revival of her always anticipated Holiday Concert, which has been a staple here and across the country following the success of her holiday release Christmas Stays the Same. In a program sure to include an eclectic mix of fan favorites, Seasonal standards, and original compositions, Ms Eder's performance is sure to be memorable thanks to her world renowned voice and her gift of making even the most familiar songs sound like you are hearing them for the very first time.
